Gender Stereotypes and the Socialization Process The pursuit of gender equality is a central element of a vision of sustainability in which every Member of Society respects others and plays a role that allows you to take advantage of their potential to the fullest. The broad goal of gender equality is a social goal that education and other social institutions should contribute. Gender discrimination is embed in the fabric of societies. In many societies, women bear the main burden of food production and child rearing. Also, women are often excluded from the family or Community decisions that affect their lives and well-being.
